Irish Association for Expressive Therapies

IACAT – useful page with good quality info and further links. For everyone interested in expressive therapies as valid tools in healthcare and self-help strategies.

Welcome!

This is just a welcome message to all of you. This site is under construction and in itself – an experimental project, hence – do not mind the mess around…

Its main agenda at the moment is to serve as a networking base, where we all can meet and let others to know about our existence.

‘J. B. Yeats Project’ is all about providing a service and developing some new resources for children and families who live their lives with autism. J.B. Yeats (29 August 1871 – 28 March 1957) was one of the most influential and most brilliant of Irish painters, hence his symbolic ‘patronage’ to the project. The name also should be an integrating factor for all interested and engaged into the initiative.

At this early stage we are looking for families from Cork region, with children aged 5-12 who would like to take part in art workshops, which we are going to organize. The workshops will be based on the general ‘art experience’ strategy, allowing children some free expression, while addressing some issues that might be problematic for them, such as communication, problem solving, self-recognition and so on.

Workshops are free. Some contribution towards art materials used may be introduced if needed.
